Antique set of 2 hardback Royal Edition opera scores from Boosey & Co. London, circa 1880: Don Pasquale and Lucia di Lammermoor, by Donizetti. These are exquisite bilingual Italian/English vocal scores with piano reduction that would make a fantastic gift for opera lovers, but also would look great as a decorative pair with their burgundy red cloth with gilt panels and gilt lettering to spine. Sold together.
Good condition, with signs of age/ use. Please see photos for details.
- Don Pasquale: overall good condition. A crack in the binding towards the middle due to repeated use, as a consequence some of the binding seams have slightly come loose, but there are no loose sheets. A couple of ink marks on the back inside covers. Previous owner names written on the inside cover, the odd annottation in pencil.
- Lucia di Lammermoor: fair condition. Cloth light peeling off the spine on the outside. Crack in the binding in the middle area, some loose sheets. Evidence of repairs in this area, with old sellotape and two rusty leftover paperclip marks. Light crack at the back inner cover. The rest in good condition. Previous owner names written on the inside cover. The odd annottation in pencil.
